Mallory is a Human Resources and Safety Representative at Mid-States Concrete Industries. She holds a BBA in Human Resources Management with a minor in Spanish from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. Kelsey Hood-Christenson has dedicated the past 14 years to serving the community at Family Services of Southern Wisconsin and Northern Illinois, Inc., where she has held a variety of direct service and leadership roles. Currently serving as the organization’s President & CEO, Kelsey holds a Master of Social Work from Aurora University and brings deep expertise to her work in addressing complex social challenges. She has also contributed to the academic field as an Adjunct Professor of Forensic Social Work and continues to engage in both state and local initiatives to create safer, more equitable communities.

Ann Bruce is the Executive Director of Family Promise of Greater Beloit, where she leads programs that support families experiencing homelessness through prevention, emergency shelter, and stabilization services. With experience in social services, education, human resources, and nonprofit leadership, Ann is committed to strengthening community partnerships and developing innovative solutions to address housing instability. She is passionate about empowering families, fostering collaboration among service providers, and creating pathways to long-term housing stability.

Jamie Anderson was born and raised in Wisconsin, spending the last 12 years in Madison where she studied at the UW-Madison and worked at the University of Wisconsin Press in Rights and Permissions. She discovered her love for bookselling when she took a very part-time position at a downtown bookstore. What began as a few hours a week quickly grew into a passion, eventually inspiring her to dream of opening a bookshop of her own. After exploring several communities, Jamie found her vision in Beloit, where she plans to put down roots with her boyfriend and two sons after her youngest graduates high school next summer.

On Saturday, September 13th, the Beloit Rising Professionals team will participate in the 19th annual Walk a Mile in Her Shoes®, walking through downtown Janesville to raise awareness and stand with survivors. The walk is symbolic, but the impact is real—and we’d love your help in making it happen.

As Rising Professionals, we believe in the power of community to engage, empower, and connect—especially when it means showing up for others. This walk is one way we put those values into action.

How you can support:

• Make a donation toward our team fundraising goal

• Contribute to the silent auction (gift cards, event tickets, artwork, etc.)

• Join us for the walk or come cheer us on!

All funds go directly to YWCA Rock County, which last year provided 2,639 nights of shelter and served 990 individuals through advocacy and support services. Their goal this year is to raise $40,000.
